Every year, Habitat for Humanity Australia recognises the exceptional contributions of corporate teams that go above and beyond in their commitment to volunteering and giving back to the community. In 2024, we are delighted to honour Turner & Townsend as our Corporate Volunteers of the Year.

Building a Legacy of Service

Turner & Townsend’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity Australia exemplifies how businesses can make a tangible impact in their communities. Over the past year, the team has mobilised over 50 employees from across various departments, dedicating their time and energy to Habitat’s Brush with Kindness and Disaster Resilience and Recovery programs.

In total, Turner & Townsend’s team volunteered more than 500 hours, working on projects ranging from revitalising community spaces to assisting families affected by natural disasters. Their dedication and teamwork have not only made a difference in the lives of those they served but have also fostered a deeper sense of purpose and camaraderie among their employees.

Beyond the Build

The impact of Turner & Townsend’s commitment extends beyond physical volunteering. The company has also been a significant supporter of Habitat for Humanity Australia’s mission through financial contributions and in-kind donations. Their fundraising initiatives, including a corporate matching program, raised over $75,000 in 2024 alone, directly supporting Habitat’s mission to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Creating a Culture of Giving

One of the most inspiring aspects of Turner & Townsend’s involvement is the culture of giving it has cultivated among its employees. The company actively encourages staff to participate in volunteering programs, offering dedicated volunteer leave and hosting regular information sessions to raise awareness about Habitat for Humanity Australia’s work. These efforts have not only increased employee engagement but have also inspired many individuals to continue volunteering in their personal lives.

Why Turner & Townsend Stands Out

What sets Turner & Townsend apart is their holistic approach to volunteering. They don’t just show up; they immerse themselves in the mission, engage with the families they assist, and bring a spirit of collaboration and innovation to every project. Their willingness to tackle challenges—whether it’s painting a community centre or constructing a new play area—embodies the ethos of Habitat for Humanity Australia.

A Shared Vision for the Future

The Corporate Volunteers of the Year Award celebrates organisations that exemplify the power of collective action in creating a better world. Turner & Townsend’s dedication to Habitat for Humanity Australia’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live is a shining example of corporate social responsibility at its best.

Congratulations to Turner & Townsend on being named Habitat for Humanity Australia’s Corporate Volunteers of the Year 2024. Your contributions remind us all of the incredible impact that businesses can have when they join forces with the community to create lasting change.
