Levi’s ANZ and Habitat for Humanity Australia partner to support Habitat for Humanity Australia’s Bushfire Recovery Program on their new campaign #WorkMeansMore for their Levi’s Workwear range.
Titled ‘Work Means More’, the documentary style project was developed by Monster Children Creative and features a group of dedicated tradespeople, volunteers and the local community coming together to provide housing for a Blue Mountains resident who lost everything in the Black Summer Bushfires.
Elisabeth Habitat Australia’s Home Partner has lived in Dargan for over 47 years, and lost her home in the fires that tore through the region in December 2019. She has been living in a makeshift shed ever since and working every day to restore her property and rebuild her life. Soon after the Bushfires COVID-19 hit and Elisabeth lost her late husband soon after losing her home.
The group of volunteers from Habitat for Humanity Australia worked alongside a small team of tradespeople comprising a carpenter, builders, roofing specialist and landscape gardener to install a comfortable temporary home for Elisabeth, with fresh paint and decking, plumbing and landscaping.
Elisabeth is a genuinely kind and beautiful soul and could not be more deserving of one of the temporary demountable homes. The demountable home was given to Elisabeth by Habitat Australia to provide her with somewhere to live as her permanent home is being built.
The project highlights the enormous value gained from the physical work undertaken, for both Elisabeth and for those volunteering.
Levi’s head of marketing, Trent Bos said: “This is the type of contribution and connection that gets us out of bed each morning. What a privilege it was to come together with so many committed and inspiring humans. Two years on from the devastating Australian bushfires that swept across our land, we wanted to let our communities know that we haven’t forgotten about you”.
As part of its workwear campaign, Levi’s has donated a total of $30,000 to support the not-for-profit, which helps volunteers to make a difference in fragile communities – some of which are still struggling more than two years after the devastating fire season.
“With over 3,094 homes destroyed nationwide… our bushfire recovery program focuses on working with local communities on the ground to salvage, rebuild and restore hope,” said Habitat for Humanity ChiefEexecutive Nicole Stanmore. “[We’re] driven by the vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live and we are grateful for Levi’s support to help us continue our mission.”
We are very grateful for Levi’s support and for their partnerships on our Bushfire Recovery Program.
