Habitat for Humanity Australia transforms lives through its Australian Building Program, Habitat Women Maintenance Team, and flagship volunteering initiative, Brush With Kindness, delivering safe, secure homes for Australians who have experienced homelessness.

We build permanent, affordable housing for those in need, while mobilising volunteers and skilled maintenance teams to paint, garden, and support frontline charities , improving homes and strengthening communities nationwide.

what brush with kindness offers

Brush With Kindness brings together a team of volunteers to paint, garden, and revitalise your property. We work with your team to scope and design the right solution, providing all materials and services at no cost to you, the beneficiary.

This saves frontline charities time and energy so they can focus on what they do best: supporting those in need.

our services

Brush with Kindness

Get your shelter renovated for free. Our dedicated volunteer teams provide internal painting, light renovations, and basic landscaping or gardening to improve safety, comfort, and liveability for those in need.

Habitat Women

Empowering women, strengthening homes. Our skilled Habitat Women tradespeople deliver professional maintenance and repair services, ensuring shelters are safe, functional, and built to last.

Habitat Projects

Building hope where it’s needed most. Our projects in Sydney focus on creating vital temporary crisis accommodation for Aboriginal women and children, offering safety, stability, and a pathway forward.

what we offfer

our services include

cosmetic maintenance

Painting, minor fixes, gardening, and basic cleaning. Our speciality is painting — and we can also provide gardening and other basic services.e.g. interior and exterior repainting of a crisis accommodation facility

space improvements

Making spaces more functional and welcoming. This could include building furniture, cleaning, or rearranging current layouts.e.g. building storage shelving in a women's refuge common area

volunteer-led projects

Our Brush With Kindness days bring together a group of volunteers to help maximise our impact on-site, working alongside your staff.e.g. a one-day corporate volunteer team transforming a shelter garden

We are endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient with charity status. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. Habitat for Humanity is accredited by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), responsible for managing the Australian Government’s development program. Habitat for Humanity Australia receives support through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).
