We would like to recognise and celebrate our partnership of 30 years with Dulux Australia. Our partnership with Dulux has proved to be a great partnership because it has combined resources and expertise to revitalise homes, improve Australian communities, and support Aussies in need.

Dulux donates paint to not-for-profit organisations and communities to protect and support the places, spaces and things that matter most to Australians.

In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, we’re committed to creating a positive impact on the community with paint and colour, where new stories and fresh memories can be made.

Here’s why our partnership stands out and has stood the test of time, 30 years to be exact:

Aligned Missions for Community Impact: Habitat for Humanity’s Brush with Kindness program seeks to repair and refresh homes for vulnerable communities, ensuring safe and liveable environments. Dulux, with its mission to enhance living spaces, provides the essential materials and expertise to make these transformations long-lasting and visually appealing .

Dulux’s Quality and Sustainability Commitment: Dulux brings high-quality, durable, and eco-friendly paints that support Habitat’s mission for affordable and sustainable housing. This not only beautifies homes and shelters but also minimises maintenance and environmental impact, making the results of each project more impactful and cost-effective over time .

Community Engagement through Volunteerism: Dulux employees often participate directly in Habitat for Humanity projects, bringing not just materials but also manpower and support. This hands-on involvement fosters a sense of community, empowering both employees and residents to contribute to lasting change . Through Dulux’s paint donations, our community and corporate volunteer activities days can run all year round treating on going community engagement and impact.

Dulux x Habitat for Humanity Australia’s Impact

Over the past 30 years Dulux has donated over a thousand litres of paint every year to a range of projects from Brush with Kindness, Restore and Home building projects across Australia. Paint does more than colour walls; it breathes life into a space, transforming it from shelter to sanctuary. For partner families like ours, a fresh coat of paint symbolises a fresh start, a promise of stability, and the warmth into a home. Every brushstroke covers the hardships of the past and lays a foundation of hope for the future.

Home Handover in VIC

In September 2023, Habitat for Humanity Victoria held a ‘House Handover’ for Celeste and her three sons—Ethan, Tobias, and Max—celebrating the completion of their new home in Crib Point. Dulux provided all the paint for their new home, helping make Celeste’s long-awaited dream a reality. After years of housing instability, moving over 30 times, Celeste reflected on the relief her family now feels: “We can finally rest easy in knowing that this is our home and our safe space,” echoed by an enthusiastic Ethan.

NAIDOC Week in NSW

This year during NAIDOC week we worked alongside our corporate partner, Dulux to provide The Aboriginal Women and Children’s Crisis Service (AWCC) with much needed repairs and renovations. We mobilised a group of volunteers who gave up their time and supported our NAIDOC week activities, positively impacting the lives of 90 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islanders this year. The volunteers lent a helping hand with maintenance and repairs of shelters for Aboriginal women and children experiencing domestic violence. An AWCC staff member shared the value of the paint and work Habitat does: “The value of Habitat for Humanity Australia goes so far beyond the here and now. A lifetime of impact on Indigenous lives, one brush, one team, one smile at a time.”

Together, Dulux and Habitat for Humanity Australia create a partnership that blends social impact helping make the world brighter, fresher, and more colourful place though their paint donations where new stories and fresh memories are made.

We are grateful for partners like Dulux to continue to support our Australian programs and enable us to provide much needed transformations of shelters and homes for vulnerable Australian families.
