Following on from the success of 2016, where over 130 volunteers joined Baby Animals’ frontwoman Suze DeMarchi to build 12 homes in Indonesia, Rock the House is back once again.
Rock the House is making a life changing impact in the community of Selopamioro. Spend a week immersing yourself in the city of Yogyakarta, the cultural centre of Java, and build a home for a family in the community of Selopamioro. Along with a team of like-minded volunteers, you can provide a family with the long-term shelter and security they need for their future.
Whilst in Yogyakarta soak in the sights with visits to the awe-inspiring Borobodur Temple as well as exploring Jalan Malioboro, Yogyakarta’s traditional street markets.
Use your Habitat build as the starting point for an exploration of Indonesia, an archipelago that is comprised of some 17,000 islands and home to over three hundred ethnic and religious groups.
Did you miss out on Rock the House last year? Don’t miss your chance to be part of something big.
Are you a Rock the House alumni? Come back to Selopamioro to increase your impact, and see first hand the difference a year can make!
Join the movement. Join Rock the House today.
Rock the House will help Habitat for Humanity make a life changing impact in the community of Selopamioro. Habitat, through a participatory approach, will actively engage the community, its leaders, and local government in every aspect of the project from design to implementation, in order to ensure quality and sustainability. Rock the House will be building 25 homes for families living in substandard conditions..
The impact of the homes will be far reaching and will create a rock solid future for generations. Healthy homes, with cement floors, improved ventilation, clean water and sanitation facilities have immediate health benefits. Families will also receive skills training and with a home to call their own, they have a place to start a business and earn a steady income.
