Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Australia and brighten the lives of women escaping violence and long term homelessness.
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Habitat for Humanity Australia is mobilising teams of corporate volunteers to renovate women’s refuges and transitional accommodation in Sydney. Join us for a full-day of team-building, and get your staff motivated and inspired while making a difference to the lives of women in Australia.
Violence against women and homelessness is a serious and widespread problem in Australia. One in four women in Australia has experienced physical and/or emotional abuse at the hands of their partner. Having a clean, safe and well maintained place to go is an important component for women leaving an abusive relationship. However, at a time of reduced Government spending, existing services cannot meet the demand for crisis accommodation and the available accommodation is often run down and in need of refurbishment.
Corporate volunteering is a tangible way to make an impact in the lives of those in need. Get a team of volunteers together from your organisation and get involved today!
Any full day during the week of 5th – 9th March, 2018.
Who can volunteer:
We are looking for 10 teams of corporate volunteers. No building experience necessary!
How much does it cost?
The contribution to the program is $5,000+ GST per activity although it is possible to host teams of up to 15 people for an additional contribution of $750 + GST
What does this go toward?
Your contribution not only goes towards the associated costs of the activity but helps to ensure the continued operation of our Australian Home Build Program, which seeks to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to families in need.
