Arup has been a long standing partner of Habitat for Humanity’s since 2005 and have helped us build stronger communities. They have assisted Habitat in building sustainable housing, water and sanitation facilities as well as constructing schools and community facilities.
Arup has significantly contributed to a number of projects in the Asia Pacific region, including reconstruction efforts following the tsunami in Sri Lanka and India and offering technical experts for evaluating projects in post-earthquake ravaged Pakistan.
Arup has also reviewed construction manuals for us in Vietnam, conducted reviews for building programs in Manila and developed a standard training module for the delivery of urban resilient settlements in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Employee volunteering is also a strong element of this partnership with employees supporting programs throughout Australia and Asia-Pacific.
As part the UN World Habitat Day on October 7th 2013, Arup supported Habitat for Humanity with engineering, design and consulting services for the temporary slum structure in Martin Place. Our campaign to raise awareness of the one billion people around the world living in inadequate housing was a success thanks to Arup
