Habitat for Humanity WA is currently looking to attract sponsor partners to fund its Brush with Kindness 2017-18 volunteer program. If your organisation has a Corporate Social Responsibility program, is keen to help the community in which you operate and to develop your staff to work as a team, Habitat for Humanity’s Brush with Kindness program offers a life changing experience.
We mobilise teams of corporate volunteers to take part in low level and low cost home maintenance activities ranging from repairing, painting, gardening to tidying and cleaning.
Volunteers experience the pure joy of working together to give something of great value to those experiencing misfortune. Our Brush with Kindness program aims to make a difference by delivering a constructive and positive contribution to the Western Australian community.
Demand for our services is high. Partnering with social housing provider, Foundation Housing, Habitat for Humanity WA has many families awaiting maintenance support. Together with your organisation, we can offer a ‘hand up” to families or people who are experiencing disadvantage, disability or are elderly and don’t have the physical ability, equipment or resources to maintain their own home.
When basic expenses become unmanageable, home maintenance is the first casualty. Years of deferred maintenance causes a downward spiral of home deterioration creating unsafe living conditions.
Habitat for Humanity provides a number of opportunities for corporate entities wanting to “give back” to the community. For more information about corporate volunteering opportunities with Habitat for Humanity, please email Christine Stanton at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0437 736 008.
