Brush with Kindness is a volunteer program for corporate groups and individuals. The program works in partnership with other non-government organisations and disadvantaged and low-income members of the community.
The program mobilises teams of volunteers to achieve and support shelter outcomes. Activities for volunteers include a variety of activities such as landscaping, minor repairs and small building projects.
The program works in partnership with NGOs to maintain, repair and improve their properties and enhance programs and activities for disadvantaged groups.
Brush with Kindness helps preserve home ownership by partnering with disadvantaged homeowners struggling to restore and maintain a safe and decent place to live.
Brush with Kindness is designed to revitalise the appearance of communities and encourage connections within the community, thereby increasing social inclusion.
Without decent housing people become vulnerable to a range of issues, including increased health risks, reduced security and social isolation.
Habitat for Humanity NSW (HFH NSW) has a range of volunteer opportunities both in and around Sydney and in Regional centers, like The Hunter Valley and the Illawarra. For corporate groups HFH NSW provides one-day volunteer opportunities for 8 to 10 people, however activities for bigger groups are possible. We also often provide multiple days for one organization. HFH NSW also has volunteer opportunities from individuals from time to time.
HFH NSW staff organise and manage all aspects of the volunteer activity, supervise all work and provides all tools and materials required.
