In October, 130 volunteers joined us to Rock the House in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Our volunteers were of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life and were united by Habitat for Humanity’s vision of a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
In November, the Abbotsleigh School sent a volunteer team of 16 (2 teachers and 14 students) to Fiji. The students worked side by side Vasenai and her family to help them build a safe and decent home that can also withstand disaster.
Community goodwill has given single dad Michael McGlashan his own home for the first time since a 2010 work injury cost him almost everything. Through Habitat for Humanity, the family moved into their new home in Victoria in time for Christmas.
